Singer and politician Hon. Geoffrey Lutaaya has paid off the outstanding school fees for his daughter, Mellan Nambatya Lutaaya, following a public appeal she made earlier this week.
Mellan, 17, had taken to social media to accuse her father of neglecting his parental responsibilities, stating that repeated attempts to contact him had been unsuccessful.
In a swift response, Hon. Geoffrey Lutaaya confirmed that Mellan is indeed his daughter, but claimed that certain individuals were manipulating her situation for their own interests.
He also expressed his intention to take custody of her to prevent further social media conflicts.
Taking to TikTok, Mellan later confirmed that her school had contacted her mother with the good news that her tuition had been fully paid and that she could now return to class.
She thanked her father for the financial support, acknowledging the sacrifice he had made to ensure she continues her education.
