General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Uganda’s Chief of Defense Forces, has officially deactivated his X (formerly Twitter) account.
In a heartfelt farewell message, he thanked his followers and hinted at new endeavors ahead.
“It has been an incredible journey together over the past 10 years since 2014,” he wrote, reflecting on his time on the platform.
The General also attributed his decision to step away from social media to the guidance of his faith in Jesus Christ, as he shifts focus back to his responsibilities leading the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF).
Expressing deep appreciation for his supporters, Gen Kainerugaba shared, “I know you all love me, and I’m confident our paths will cross again once I’ve fulfilled my mission to bring peace and security to the region.”
Before his departure, he urged his followers to continue supporting Uganda, Africa, and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, whom he honored as “the greatest General of the Resistance.” He concluded his message with a warm “Kwaheri, and God bless you all!!!”
This announcement follows the General’s recent visit to troops participating in Operation Shujaa in Ituri, where he issued orders to eliminate the remaining ADF terrorists within 11 months.
His exit from social media has left his followers both nostalgic and curious about his next steps.
A search for his former handle, @mkainerugaba, now yields no results, confirming his departure from the platform.
Sources suggest that Gen Kainerugaba may explore new ways to connect with his followers, possibly through a YouTube podcast.
