Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi, the former Deputy Inspector General of Police, is in critical condition after being involved in a serious road accident on the Masaka–Mbarara highway. He was airlifted to Kampala for emergency medical treatment.
The accident occurred as Gen Muzeyi was returning from Kiruhura District, where he had attended the giveaway ceremony of President Yoweri Museveni’s granddaughter, Nsasiirwe Keinembabazi Karugire.
Reports indicate that his Toyota Land Cruiser collided with a Fuso truck. While full details of the incident remain unclear as of Saturday evening, eyewitnesses say Gen Muzeyi was driving himself at the time of the crash.
Gen Muzeyi currently serves as the General Manager of Luwero Industries, a subsidiary of the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC). Following the accident, a UPDF helicopter was dispatched to evacuate him to Kampala for urgent medical attention.
