Major General Proscovia Nalweyiso, the Presidential Advisor on Security, has called on organizers of President Yoweri Museveni’s events to consider hiring opposition leader and musician Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, to perform at National Resistance Movement (NRM) rallies and functions.
Speaking during a weekend appearance on local radio station, Nalweyiso emphasized that despite Bobi Wine’s political rivalry with President Museveni, he remains one of Uganda’s most talented entertainers.

“Bobi Wine is an artist I genuinely appreciate,I don’t understand why NRM doesn’t invite him to perform at our events. I would love to see him on our stage.Nalweyiso said.
Bobi Wine, who rose to fame as a musician before joining politics, has been banned from performing in Uganda for several years. The government imposed the ban after accusing him of using international concerts to criticize the regime while allegedly trying to benefit financially from performances at home.

Currently, Bobi Wine is among the main contenders in the upcoming general elections, challenging President Museveni alongside other candidates such as General Mugisha Muntu and Mubarak Munyagwa.
