Speaking candidly during a live radio broadcast, Gashumba addressed the criticism, firmly standing by Malaika and clarifying their domestic arrangement.

He stated that cooking is not part of Malaika’s responsibilities at home, emphasizing that her value is not tied to kitchen duties.

“I didn’t marry a cook.My wife has no obligation to smell like onions. We have professional cooks who are paid for that. If she ever chooses to cook, it’s entirely out of her own will not out of duty.”, Frank Gashumba said.

He further explained that while a maid typically handles meal preparation, Malaika may occasionally serve the food, but only by choice.

Gashumba wrapped up his remarks by asserting, “You can’t claim to live in a palace if you don’t have cooks.”
