Famous Ugandan Gospel Artists Songs And Albums

The Ugandan Gospel music is a Genre of Christian music that some of the artists in Uganda have stopped at nothing but release songs and spread the Gospel through their music.

Lyrics are always in English, Luganda or even a combination of both languages and the following are some of the best Gospel artists in Uganda.

1. Pastor Wilson Bugembe

Born on 8th August 1984, Wildon Bugembe is a Ugandan Gospel Musician and pastor at “The Worship House” in Nansana Wakiso District.

Wilson Bugembe is believed to have started his gospel music career professionally at an early age of 19 years with his breakthrough song as Njagala Kumanya which received airplay on popular top radios and televisions in Kampala and Uganda at large. He has since then had hit songs like Kani, Bamuyita Yesu, Yellow, lengera Embaata among others.

2. Levixone 

Levixone was born on 7th December 1992 and begun his gospel music career in 2010 and has since then released several hit songs including Mbeera, more blessings, enjoy among others which have won  him a number of accolades including the 2018 Sauti accolade, for East African Male Artist of the Year.

 

3. Judith Babirye

A Ugandan music Gospel Artist who kicked off her gospel career at an early age and gained fame after releasing a hit song in 2006 dubbed Beera Nange and won the best gospel single in the 2006 Pearl Of Africa Awards.

She has since then released hit songs including Wambatira, Omusaati Gwa Yesu, Mama among others.

 

4. Gabbie Ntaate

Real names Gabriella Bridget Ntaate born on 14th April 1992, is a Ugandan Gospel singer who won Sauti Awards after beating six renowned continental Gospel competitors and also won the Zouk song of the year 2021 in the Royal Gospel Music Awards.

Gabbie Ntaate has released hit songs including Brag about God, Cheza for Yesu, Gwasembayo among others.

 

5. Jehova Shallom Acapella 

A six member group, Jehova Shalom Acapella is a group from Uganda blending African rhythms with devotional hyms aimce 2006 and their music is rooted in faith and brotherhood carrying messages of hope, salvation and divine love.

 

Gospel music is always accompanied by traditional African instruments such as drums and  xylophones and popular in churches, Christian gatherings among others.
