Renowned events organizer–turned–NRM mobiliser Norbert “Nobat Events” Twezire is spending days behind bars at Nateete Police Station after surrendering himself to respond to a pile of serious accusations.
According to sources, police had issued summons earlier, but Nobat requested extra time because he was busy with NRM campaign activities. However, when he finally appeared to record his statement, officers immediately put him under arrest.
It has now emerged that Nobat is facing 12 different cases, many filed by some of Uganda’s biggest music stars.
Eddy Kenzo reportedly lodged 8 complaints
Jose Chameleone filed 3 cases
Mariam Tindatine filed 1 case.
The allegations range from defamation, verbal attacks, to spreading damaging falsehoods about the artists.
Tindatine’s complaint is tied to remarks Nobat allegedly made about her reputation and conduct.
For now, Nobat remains in custody as police deepen their investigations.
