Erias Lukwago Gives Health Update About His Spinal surgery

The Lord Mayor of Kampala, Erias Lukwago has come out to give a health update following a recent spinal Operation in India.

A few days ago, Erias Lukwago was flown to India’s Capital New Delhi for a specialized Anterior Cervical Disc and Fusion surgery.

Erias Lukwago Successfully Undergoes Spinal Surgery in India

Erias Lukwago on 24th April, 2024 via his X revealed that his medical journey to New Delhi was as a result of several referrals by neurosurgeons and other physicians.

Lukwago said that the purpose of the surgery was to remove the herniated that has bothered him for over 2 months with excruciating pain tingling in his back and upper left limb.

Herniated is an abnormal condition or process in which an organ or other tissue protrudes through an opening as in an organ’s surrounding walls or some other narrow space.

A problem with the vertebral column always causes severe pain because the spinal cord (which is actually an extension of the brain), the CNS (central nervous system) contains major sensory neurons making conducts with the motor neurons.

Ealier today via his Socials , Erias Lukwago revealed that he underwent a successful surgery on his spine / cervical disc at Fontis Memorial hospital in Gurngram, New Delhi- India.

He further thanked God for making it possible for him to wake up from the operation theater and the Intensive Care Unit where he spent several hours battling fo life.

“Glory be to the Gracious Lord whose mighty Will made it possible for me to wake up from the operation theatre and the Intensive Care Unit of Fortis Memorial Hospital, Grugram, India where I spent several hours battling for life.”,he wrote.

With hopes that he will soon able to return to Uganda ,as his Journey towards recovery progresses , the Lord mayor’s supporters and well- wishers continue to offer their support and prayers , anticipating his eventual return to serve them.
