Cornelius Kodet Lorika, the proprietor of Entebbe Aero Beach, has passed away at the age of 84 after battling illness for nearly three years.
Lorika died on Sunday night, December 7, 2025, at around 8:00 PM. According to family sources, he had been receiving treatment in several hospitals both in Uganda and abroad but his condition kept worsening.

The businessman has been living in Nsamizi Zone, near State House Entebbe. A vigil was held at his home last night, attracting relatives, friends, and business associates who gathered to mourn him.
Family members say a tentative burial programme will be released today after internal consultations. He is survived by seven children and several grandchildren.
At the time of his death, Lorika was still seeking compensation worth Shs 9 billion from the government for cattle and property he lost during the 1979–80 liberation war. President Museveni had previously directed the Ministry of Justice to verify his claims in letters dated January 29, 2015, and January 11, 2018, but no final response had ever been issued.

Lorika had also claimed losses amounting to Shs 13.5 billion during the Karamoja insurgency between the 1980s and 1990s when cattle rustlers raided his Namalu farm in Nakapiripirit.
Despite these struggles, Lorika remained one of Uganda’s notable entrepreneurs, owning various investments across the country, including Katuruum Lodges in Kidepo, Mt. Moroto Hotel, and Namalu Stock Farm.
May his soul rest in peace. Stay tuned here for more updates
