Don Chris, the self-proclaimed tycoon and CEO of Skypin and Travel Company, has publicly responded to recent allegations accusing him of defrauding Kampala youths of more than 500 million Ugandan shillings.

The claims, which emerged earlier this week, allege that Don Chris collected large sums of money from local youths under false pretenses, before fleeing the country. Reports suggest he is currently residing in Dubai.

In an interview with a local TV station, Don Chris denied the allegations, asserting that he is being targeted by business rivals and so-called “mafias” threatened by the rise of his business empire.

“I’m being fought by mafias. These are business competitors who feel threatened. I was ready to refund their money last Friday, but someone influenced them to take the matter to the media. That’s when I decided this should be handled by the courts.”he said.

He claimed that the aggrieved individuals broke an earlier agreement by going public with their complaints. Don Chris now insists that refunds will only be issued if the court finds him guilty.

He also disputed the reported amount, saying the figure in question is closer to 300 million Ugandan shillings, not the 500 million claimed.
