The court has today dismissed the assault charges levied against dancehall singer Cinderella Sanyu alias Cindy Sanyu.
The incident that led to the case took place in July of last year, with the involved parties facing charges related to violence.
On the night of December 15, 2023, after the Blu*3 concert at Naguru Skyz, Cindy Sanyu and her colleagues decided to unwind and celebrate following the success of the show.
However, during their celebrations, a physical altercation broke out, during which Kevin Nyembo and his associates allegedly assaulted Dr. Luggya Tonny Stone, causing bodily harm.
The altercation escalated further when Kevin Nyembo and his group reportedly stole UGX 11,500,000 from Dr. Luggya. The accused were then brought before the City Hall Court in Kampala.
It was alleged that Cindy Sanyu and her business partner, Gabriel Ramathan, had encouraged Kevin Nyembo to attack Dr. Luggya.
After several court hearings, the charges against her were dropped today, with the court declaring her innocent.
Speaking to the press, an elated she expressed her relief at the case being dismissed but also emphasized that other individuals involved would still have to face legal proceedings for justice to take its course.
