Muslim Clerics Raise Concerns Over Ssekajja Abdul and Chosen Becky’s Umrah Visit

Muslim clerics have expressed concern over the recent visit to Islamic holy sites by Ssekajja Abdul and singer Chosen Becky, who is not a Muslim.

The couple is under fire for displaying affection at the sacred site, which religious leaders say is inappropriate especially since Chosen Becky is not officially married to Ssekajja.

A few days ago, Chosen Becky traveled to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with her children and her partner Ssekajja, where she had a scheduled performance. After the successful concert, the couple began what was described as a “proposal vacation,” reportedly funded by Ssekajja.

As part of their trip, the couple and their children performed Umrah, a spiritual pilgrimage undertaken by Muslims to cleanse their souls. They documented the experience on social media, sharing photos and messages with their followers.

Ssekajja shared his intentions behind the pilgrimage in a post:
“Alhamdulillah, today I’ve done my Umrah with my wife and our kids. The purpose for this was to refresh our faith and cleanse our souls to Allah in our new journey of love. I have forgiven all who have wronged me. Nsaba Mungu fenna atuwe Barakah. Mashallah, our vacation is full of good memories.”

However, religious leaders have since urged the couple to issue an apology, stating that their behavior at the holy site showed a lack of reverence and cultural sensitivity.
