The body of Cedric Babu, renowned media personality and son of former Kampala Central MP Capt. Francis Babu, has been returned to Uganda ahead of a public tribute scheduled for tomorrow at Lugogo Indoor Stadium.
Cedric passed away on Saturday, May 31, at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi due to heart complications. He was 46.

His body arrived early this morning at Entebbe International Airport and was later transferred to Uganda Funeral Services in Bukoto.
Full Funeral Programme Schedule:
Wednesday & Thursday (June 4–5): A vigil will be held at his residence in Kololo, Plot 1 Fumu Close, beginning at 5:00 PM.
Thursday, June 5: The body will lie in state at Lugogo Indoor Stadium, where members of the public and the sports community will pay their final respects to the former tennis star.

Friday, June 6: A requiem mass will take place at Rubaga Cathedral (exact time to be confirmed), after which the body will be transported to his ancestral home in Kamengo.
Saturday, June 7: The final burial ceremony will be held in Kamengo, Mpigi District.
Cedric Babu was more than the son of a prominent politician, he was a celebrated athlete, a respected media figure, and an emerging leader in Uganda’s political landscape.
As Vice Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) for Kampala, he played a key role in youth mobilisation, especially through sports.His sudden death has left a profound void in Uganda’s sporting and political spheres.
