Sheilah Muwanga, daughter of the late city tycoon Bulayimu Muwanga Kibirige (BMK), has accused businessman Godfrey Kirumira of orchestrating a scheme to take over her father’s properties and bank accounts.

Sheilah voiced her concerns in a video shared on social media, expressing frustration over the ongoing legal battle between her family and Kirumira.

She alleged that despite presenting himself as a close friend of BMK during his lifetime, Kirumira is now leading efforts to confiscate the late tycoon’s assets.

BMK’s Daughter

That as chairman of the Kwagalana Group, an association of wealthy businessmen in which BMK was subscribed a member, Kirumira allegedly refused to release funds owed to BMK’s family, despite the group’s memorandum of understanding stating otherwise.

Sheilah further claimed that Kirumira is working behind the scenes with banks to take control of BMK’s properties.

She accused him of pretending to be her father’s friend while secretly plotting against his family.

“This man, who once called my father a brother, is now working tirelessly to take what belonged to him. The people you trust as friends might be the very ones waiting for you to die so they can take your possessions.”Sheilah lamented. “

She also revealed that she and her siblings are living in fear after an alleged attempt to arrest her brother, Ali Muwanga, BMK’s heir.

According to Sheilah, Ali narrowly escaped arrest when he went to inspect a disputed family property—apartments located on Plot 46, Mulamula Road in Buziga. His security guards, however, were reportedly beaten and detained.

The controversy surrounding the property began when Haruna Kalule Muwanga, another of BMK’s sons, allegedly used forged land titles to secure a substantial6 loan from Yako Bank.

After failing to repay the loan, Kalule reportedly fled the country, prompting the bank to sell the debt to Kirumira.

Last week, Sheilah said negotiations took place, and it was agreed that the Buziga property would be divided, with BMK’s family retaining one part while Kirumira took the other.

However, when Ali visited the property over the weekend, he reportedly found their section locked.

“He broke the padlock and went to buy a new one, but while he was away, his guards were arrested, locked in a room, and beaten up,” she recounted.

BMK’s family insists that the responsibility for the loan lies with Kalule, who fraudulently staked the property as collateral.

They argue that creditors should pursue him rather than targeting the rest of the family.

Sheilah has vowed to reveal more details as the dispute unfolds.
