TV Presenter Betty Nampijja Breaks Down On Air After Surviving Armed Robbery

Bukedde TV presenter Betty Nampijja was visibly emotional during a live broadcast as she recounted a terrifying armed robbery she survived early Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred around 4 a.m., shortly after she had returned home from covering the Uganda National Musicians Federation’s (UNMF) weekly jam session, organized by singer Eddy Kenzo. These events often attract high-profile attendees, including journalists like Betty Nampijja.

While still shaken, she detailed how two armed men ambushed her at gunpoint, forcing their way into her home.

The intruders ransacked the house, stealing cash, electronics, and other valuables. Although she was not physically harmed, the psychological impact was evident as she spoke tearfully on air.

“I’m grateful to be alive.They didn’t hurt me, but they took everything. The fear was overwhelming.”,She said.
