Betty Nakibuuka, the mother of Baby Gloria, has spoken out about the unexpected release of her daughter’s engagement photos with Mbaleka Jonas.
She expressed her surprise, revealing that the photos were never intended to be made public.
Betty Nakibuuka clarified that she wasn’t involved in the engagement plans and only learned about them through social media, just like everyone else.
She shared how Baby Gloria, her younger sister Jolly, and Jonas had booked a flight and traveled abroad. Initially, Nakibuuka assumed they were simply on vacation outside Uganda, but her perspective changed when the engagement photos began trending online.
According to her, the pictures were meant to be shared at a later date, but they were posted prematurely by mistake.
“They had planned to release the photos at a specific time, but they went up on their own, and by the time they realized, it was too late to take them down. I just told them to let it be,” she explained.
Nakibuuka recounted discovering the images during their usual 3 AM prayer session.
“After we had gone to bed, I checked my phone and saw the pictures. When I called them to ask, they told me the photos had been posted by mistake and had already gone viral,” she said.
