Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine, the president of the National Unity Platform (NUP) and singer , has reported that his elder brother, Fred Nyanzi Ssentamu also known as Chairman Nyanzi was abducted by heavily armed men this evening.
According to Bobi Wine, Nyanzi who also serves as NUP’s Mobilization chief was taken away in a drone to an undisclosed location.
“Comrade Fred Nyanzi Ssentamu, our Head of Mobilization for NUP, has been abducted by armed men and taken away in a drone to an unknown destination!” Kyagulanyi shared on X (formerly Twitter).

He further explained that the abduction took place at Kubbiri Roundabout in Uganda’s capital,Kampala
Leader of Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi also added that the incident occurred just after Fred Nyanzi had attended a meeting at NUP’s Kavule headquarters.
“He was ambushed and dragged out of his car near Kubiri. Our legal team is working tirelessly to locate his whereabouts. The regime is clearly in panic as we intensify our efforts to demand the release of all political prisoners,” Ssenyonyi said.
As of now, the police have not issued a statement regarding the alleged abduction.

This development comes just hours after Kyagulanyi revealed that two other NUP members, Rashid Kinobe and Sharif Kiyemba, had also been abducted by men in plain clothes. This is a developing story, and updates will follow.
