Ugandan singer  Dalton Nteg alias Anknown Prosper,  recently opened up about a painful moment early in his career when Spice Diana’s manager, Roger, shut down a chance for his music to be heard.

Speaking during an interview on Deep Talk with Mr. Henrie, Anknown recalled the humiliating incident that happened while he was still trying to break into the industry.

He had been introduced to Manager Roger through a mutual friend, fellow musician Guvnor Ace. Thanks to this connection, Anknown found himself in rooms full of established artists, believing it was his shot at a breakthrough.

During one of their hangouts, Guvnor Ace encouraged Anknown Prosper to share his music, suggesting they play a few of his songs for the group.

Taking the opportunity, Anknown plugged in his flash drive to showcase his work. But just as the music started, Manager Roger walked in and immediately ordered it to be stopped, insisting that only big-name artists be played that day.

“That’s when I realized I wasn’t considered a star yet.The flash drive had some of my early songs, including ‘Doctor,’ but they were still rough versions, not the polished ones I later released.”, Anknown said.

The experience left Anknown prosper feeling humiliated, especially in front of established stars like Ziza Bafana and Spice Diana. He recalled quietly removing his flash drive, overwhelmed with embarrassment.

Despite this, Manager Roger kept dangling false promises talking about signing Anknown or letting him perform at Spice Diana’s shows. He would often call Anknown with offers, only to switch off his phone later, leaving the young artist discouraged and eventually disheartened.
