Ugandan musician Alien Skin, real name Patrick Mulwana, has been arrested and is currently detained at Katwe Police Station in connection with the death of dancer Wilfred Namuwaya, also known as Top Dancer.
According to SSP Patrick Onyango, Alien Skin was apprehended to provide a statement regarding the incident, which authorities say involved abduction and torture leading to Namuwaya’s death.
Onyango confirmed the arrest a day after the police dismissed earlier reports claiming the singer had been secretly detained.
Police investigations indicate that Namuwaya, who was once part of Alien Skin’s Fangone Forest crew, was allegedly picked up from his home in Ndeeba by a man known as Musomali, said to be affiliated with the group. He was then taken at night to their base in Kizungu, Makindye.
Before his death, Namuwaya reportedly told investigators that he was abducted and beaten on Alien Skin’s orders as punishment for quitting the crew.

“They came to my home claiming I had stolen something. When we reached the base, I was beaten and kicked by several people on Alien’s orders”. He said ‘Why did you leave the group?’” Namuwaya is quoted as saying during his statement to police.
A doctor at a Kizungu-based clinic, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that Namuwaya was dropped at the facility during the night.
“He had severe internal bleeding that was beyond what we could handle,” the doctor said. “We tried to stabilize him overnight and referred him to Mulago Hospital, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead on arrival.”
Police have launched a manhunt for other individuals linked to the case, including Commander Mdogo, Ibra Kabadiya, and Mijagulo, all of whom are said to be members of Fangone Forest.
“They severely beat Namuwaya and then dumped him at a clinic,” SSP Onyango stated. “We are tracking down all those involved, including Alien Skin.”
This is not the first time Alien Skin and his associates have been implicated in violent behavior. In 2024, members of his group reportedly stormed Nsambya Hospital after a fellow crew member was injured in a car crash. When medical personnel refused to immediately hand over medical forms, the group assaulted a doctor and two security guards, seriously injuring them.
Alien Skin was arrested and detained at Luzira Prison for several weeks before being released on bail.
In a separate incident the same year, he allegedly assaulted Ntale Tonny, a bouncer at Vox Bar in Makindye, after being asked to follow standard security checks.
Police say investigations into Namuwaya’s death are ongoing and more arrests are expected.
