Veteran Ugandan raggae and dancehall artist , Anita Da Diva narrowly survived being sexually assaulted by unidentified Nigerian man last night at Moonlight Apartments in Naalya, Kampala.
In an emotional video shared on her TikTok account, the singer recounted a terrifying ordeal that began after she met the man online and agreed to meet in person.
According to Anita, the two arranged to meet at Moon Light Apartments, where the man resides. However, what was meant to be a friendly encounter turned into a nightmare.
The artist alleges that the man not only attempted to rape her but also pressured her into performing degrading sexual acts. When she refused, he reportedly became violent, beating her before locking her inside his apartment to prevent her from leaving.
“I refused to do all that he commanded me to do because I’m not a prostitute. I’m a whole diva; a musician. I told him I couldn’t have sex with him because I did not know him like that, and it was my first time seeing him. He jumped and started strangling me. If I did not have the power to fight him off, I would be dead,” she said.
Anita Da Diva further revealed that she feared for her life during the ordeal. She believes that her strength and resilience saved her from a more tragic outcome.
“If I was not energetic enough, he would have murdered me in his apartment,” she added.

In the video, Anita Da Diva pleads with authorities to intervene, arrest the suspect, and ensure her safety. She emphasized that she has no prior connection to the man, stating,
“You cannot beat me yet I have never stolen anything from you or done anything to you. I do not know him and I just met him on the internet. He insisted we meet, and now he has become a problem for me.”
