Renowned Ugandan Musician Mulwana Patrick alias Alien Skin, and Mugabi Julius earlier today appeared before Makindye Magistrates Court to apply for bail after facing charges of causing grievous harm at St. Francis Hospital in Nsambya.
The court granted them each a cash bail of UGX 1 million, while their sureties were required to provide a non-cash bond of UGX 5 million.
In addition, Alien Skin was granted bail in a separate case involving the theft of a phone.
The judge noted that the sureties presented by Alien Skin’s legal team were deemed substantial, and suggested that both the accused and the complainant could seek an out-of-court resolution.
Bail conditions include a restriction preventing the accused from leaving the country without court permission. Sureties are also expected to pay UGX 3 million.
Alien Skin is scheduled to return to court on January 13, 2025, for the official ruling on the case.
