Renowned Ugandan singer Alien Skin, real name Patrick Mulwana, and his team narrowly survived an angry mob attack in Jinja on Thursday evening .
According to reports, the incident happened shortly after Alien Skin had performed at Speaker Anita Among’s event, where she was mobilizing support for NRM candidate Yoweri Museveni ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

A video making rounds on social media shows a section of angry youths turning violent, forcing police and event organizers to step in and rescue the “Sitya Danger” hitmaker. Alien Skin was swiftly whisked away to safety by his security team.
Unconfirmed sources suggest that the chaos may have been politically motivated, as Alien Skin has previously clashed with NUP supporters and Bobi Wine’s camp, who enjoy massive support in the Busoga region.
This isn’t the first time the Alien Skin has faced hostility in Eastern Uganda. Earlier this year, he was reportedly attacked in Iganga after another show.

Neither Alien Skin nor the police has released an official statement regarding the Jinja incident.
