Gagamel boss Moses Ssali, popularly known as Bebe Cool, recently opened up about his brief but painful stint in sports before fully diving into music.
Coming from a family deeply involved in Uganda’s sports scene, Bebe says athletics and football were a big part of his early life during school. However, his budding football career was cut short by a gruesome incident on the pitch.
“I was very active in sports back in school especially athletics and football, but I had to stop playing after a terrible experience. I wore boots that were too tight during a hot season, and when I removed my socks after the game, all ten of my toenails came off.”, Bebe Cool shared.
The traumatic injury forced him to quit playing football physically, though he insists his love for the game never faded.
“I quit physically, not mentally,” Bebe Cool said, adding that he still closely follows Ugandan athletics and football to this day.
