Renowned Ugandan musician Moses Ssali, popularly known as Bebe Cool, has clarified why he named American billionaire and rapper Jay-Z as his dream guest for DJ AG’s street show in London.
The artist appeared on the program and delivered a performance that drew considerable attention from both the live audience and social media.
However, his mention of Jay-Z as a potential guest stirred controversy among Ugandans online. Many criticized Bebe Cool for not suggesting a fellow Ugandan artist, accusing him of overlooking local talent and appearing out of touch with national pride.
Unfazed by the backlash, the “Love You Every Day” singer defended his stance, urging Ugandans to look beyond their own expectations.
He emphasized the need to appreciate and reciprocate the support they receive from others, particularly when efforts are made to uplift Ugandan talent on international platforms.

Bebe Cool highlighted the hard work DJ AG has invested over the years to grow his street show, saying his suggestion of Jay-Z was intended to help elevate the platform even further.
“Jay-Z is one of the greatest artists in the world and bringing someone of his caliber would be a powerful show of support for DJ AG’s vision.”,he said
He also pointed out that DJ AG has already featured two Ugandan artistshimself and Joshua Baraka on the show within the past six months. According to Bebe Cool, that support deserves acknowledgment and a willingness to help take the show to the next level.
“Sometimes it’s not just about what Ugandans want,It’s about contributing to someone else’s dream. DJ AG has done a lot for Ugandan music in a short time, and it’s time to give back.”,Bebe Cool said.

He further emphasized that during his performance, he consistently promoted Uganda, East Africa, and the East African Bashment Crew, referencing fellow artists like Wyre and Naziz demonstrating that his commitment to regional representation remained strong
