In a recent turn of events, Gudlyfe singer Douglas Mayanja, better known as Weasel Manizo, has publicly apologized to Ugandan-American based businesswoman Juliet Zawedde following his erratic behavior.
On Sunday night, while Juliet was away in Miami on a short holiday, she was alerted to Weasel’s erratic behavior through her doorbell camera.
Weasel had returned to the house intoxicated in the early hours of the morning after a night out, and his actions quickly raised concern.
Leaked audios and videos circulating on social media captured the singer, visibly drunk, pleading with Juliet. He demanded that she fund his ticket back home, expressing frustration with the treatment he had received at her house.
In the footage, Weasel claimed he was being mistreated and stated that he would prefer to return to Uganda to be with his wife and children rather than stay in an environment where he felt disrespected.
“I love you so much, Mama Julie. They’re even going to steal my wife from me while I’m here. You keep sending people to tell me you don’t want me in your house, but I left mine back home. I love you, but don’t disrespect me. Take me back home, and I’ll never call you again. I’ve done everything. The last time I came to America, I was broke, but I didn’t stay behind. It hurts me to even be saying this,” Weasel can be heard saying as he repeatedly begged her for assistance.
Meanwhile, Juliet, who was away in Miami, watched the distressing situation unfold on her doorbell camera footage.
In response to the incident, Juliet attempted to resolve the matter by encouraging a conversation between Weasel and Chameleone, asking him to address Weasel’s loud demands, which included returning to Uganda and purchasing a new car for his lady. Juliet’s intentions were to support both artists, particularly given that Jose had been dealing with an illness.
Following the incident, Weasel Manizo made a public apology to Juliet, and peace was restored after a recorded video of the apology surfaced online.
In the video, Weasel Manizo expressed remorse for his behavior, admitting that he was not himself due to a long, exhausting night. He emphasized that he did not intend to attack or harm Juliet and apologized for his actions.
Weasel also took the opportunity to thank Juliet for the support she had extended to him and others, especially during a challenging time with his brother’s health.
Weasel had flown to the U.S. to care for his brother, who was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis, and had stayed by his side throughout the ordeal.
While in the U.S., Weasel Manizo also worked on a music video with Tanzania’s Bushoke and Juliet played a significant role in the project’s success, even covering Bushoke’s $6,000 wardrobe, though Weasel claimed he did not receive any financial support from her.
