Comedy Store UG boss, Alex Muhangi, has expressed his disappointment with singer Bebe Cool for refusing to perform at his Comedy Store show.
During a TikTok Live session with Crysto Panda and Bruno K, Alex opened up about his frustration, revealing how Bebe Cool’s actions hurt him, especially when he needed support from his longtime friend.
Last week, Bebe Cool and Alex Muhangi’s friendship hit a rough patch after the Gagamel singer, despite showing up at the Comedy Store venue with his wife, chose to leave without performing. Fans who had come to see both comedy and Bebe Cool’s performance were left stunned.
Reports later confirmed that Bebe Cool’s departure was due to an unresolved payment balance. Muhangi explained that he had left to collect the remaining balance, but by the time he returned, the singer had already left the venue.
In the emotional TikTok live, Alex questioned why Bebe Cool, a friend of many years, would act in such a way.
He stressed that their families were close and wondered why his friend would take actions that could damage his business.
Alex also pointed out that Bebe Cool seemed to be trying to create a controversial moment ahead of his upcoming music project, Motivation, in order to stay in the media spotlight.
“Comedy Store has given Bebe Cool over Shs100m. He came because I hired him, I paid him. Bebe Cool is a big artist, but I am the client, and I will not lose my position as a client. How can you talk about Motivation when you arrive at a show with 800 people waiting for you, hosted by your friend, and then leave? He’s my friend, we’re neighbors,” Alex said.
He further added, “It hurts me that Bebe Cool came to my show and didn’t perform. He’s my boy, I’ve known him for a long time. It’s not about the money; it’s about the fact that he’s trying to promote his song Motivation.”
