YouTube Takes Down Lil Pazo Lunabe’s New Song “Irena” Over Copyright Claims

YouTube has pulled down Lil Pazo Lunabe’s latest single, “Irena Weee,” due to allegations of copyright infringement.

Lil Pazo shared a screenshot on social media, showing an email informing him that the takedown request came from the family of the late Kato Lubwama.

The action followed accusations from John Segawa and Conrad Lubwama, who claimed that Lil Pazo had copied the song “Kilabe Ebiiso” by the late Kato Lubwama without permission.

The family issued a notice of intention to sue, demanding that Lil Pazo remove the song and make a formal request for authorization, which he denies receiving.

The notice also called for Lil Pazo to pay a hefty sum of 300 million Ugandan shillings, among other penalties.

In a recent interview with Sanyuka TV, Lil Pazo Lunabe stated that he used a reggae beat by the late Lucky Dube and fused it with Luganda lyrics, asserting that he did not believe this constituted copyright infringement
