Veteran Ugandan Band singer Mesach Semakula has sent a strong message to his children, making it clear that his property belongs to him and his wife and not to them.

Speaking during a Senkoole Family gathering held to celebrate Remmy Mubiru’s graduation from the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU), Semakula urged children to focus on education, hard work, and building their own wealth instead of depending on their parents.

The singer said he has noticed a growing trend where some children feel entitled to their parents’ property even while they are still alive, something he strongly opposes.

Semakula stressed that his children must earn their own money and should not expect to benefit from his lifetime of hard work.

“You don’t demand anything from me  not a car, not a house. Everything I have belongs to my wife and me,” Semakula said.

He added that he is free to sell his land or property and reward himself however he wishes, including buying expensive cars, without seeking approval from his children.

“If I want to sell my land and drive a Benz, that is my right. I worked for it. I do not owe anyone anything,” he added.

Semakula also warned that he would not tolerate any of his children attempting to challenge him over decisions involving his property, noting that such disputes have become common in many families.
