The trio are accused of involvement in the improper diversion, grant, or allocation of iron sheets intended for others’ benefit.

They are subjected to travel bans and asset freezes under the UK’s Global Anti-Corruption Sanctions regime.

According to Britain, Kitutu and Nandutu misappropriated thousands of iron sheets from a government-funded housing project in Karamoja, with Among allegedly benefiting from the proceeds.

Andrew Mitchell, Britain’s deputy foreign minister, emphasized that corruption carries consequences and those responsible will be held accountable.

While Kitutu and Nandutu face corruption charges in Uganda, Anita Among’s alleged involvement has stirred political controversy, with Uganda dismissing the allegations as politically motivated.

Since its establishment in 2021, Britain’s anti-corruption regime has sanctioned 42 individuals and entities, including figures from Russia, South Sudan, and Venezuela.
