The Hypers Kids Africa, a talented dance group from Uganda, are currently in the United States preparing to perform aat Star- studded event at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California.
They will be sharing the stage with renowned artists such as Burna Boy , Akon among other performers.
The group announced the exciting news through a TikTok post, which featured a video of them spending time with Akon, who has previously visited Uganda.
Akon, whose real name is Aliaune Damala Badara Thiam, first visited Uganda in 2021 accompanied by his wife, Rozina Negusei, he met with President Yoweri Museveni and First Lady Janet Museveni at their home in Rwakitura, Kiruhura District. Akon was exploring business opportunities in various sectors, including energy, tourism, and infrastructure development.
In a social media post, President Museveni stated, “Mr. Aliaune Thiam (@Akon) and his wife have come to Uganda in search of business opportunities in sectors like energy, tourism, and infrastructure development. I am happy to engage in discussions that will uplift our people and Africa at large.” During this visit, Akon was joined by Ugandan musician Bebe Cool and met Mufti Sheikh Shaban Mubaje while in Kampala.
In 2023, Hypers Kids Africa gained attention when they hosted American rapper 6ix9ine (Daniel Hernandez) for the filming of his music video “Wapae.”
Founded by Moses Butindo in 2014, Hypers Kids Africa is a group of 42 children who focus on dancing, football, and acrobatics. Butindo revealed that they have collaborated with other international stars such as Chris Brown, Neymar, Ronaldinho, and Léo Santana.
