Featuring in a Hollywood film would be a privilege that anyone would look up to as many see Hollywood as the highest Institution of film in the entire world be it the Americans themselves.
However, a few Ugandan actors and actresses have managed to prove the fact that Uganda is indeed the Pearl of Africa and in this case therefore made the Country more proud through featuring or being seen on the Hollywood movie sets and here, we take you through the lucky Individuals.
1. Florence Kasumba
Born in Kampala Uganda, Florence Kasumba is a German actress currently residing in Berlin well known for portraying as Ayo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, Captain America, Civil War, Black Panther in 2018 a movie that topped charts, she also acts in German and Dutch films.
2. Daniel Kaluuya
Born by Ugandan parents, Daniel Kaluuya is an English Actor, director and producer who has worked both on screen and on stage. He has received many accolades including an Academy Award, BAFTA awards plus a Golden Globe award.
Daniel Kaluuya featured in the famous Black Panther and many more other hollywood movies and was named among the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine.
3. Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine
In the highly anticipated Apple new series, Ntare Guma next stars opposite Taron Egerton “Firebug” from the celebrated Dennis Lehane due out in 2025.
Ntare Mbaho Mwine is an American Ugandan stage and film Actor, playwright, photographer and documentarian. He also starred in the 2024 series Dead Ringers on Amazon.
4. Nana Kagga
Also known as Nana Kagga Hill, is a Ugandan filmmaker, content creator, scriptwriter motivational speaker and Actress.
She has not only stared in the Ugandan films Prestige for example but also made her way on the big American platforms.
5. Patrick J Ssenjovu
An American Ugandan Actor who kicked off his career doing and television in Uganda before emerging to the United States for greener pastures.
Patrick Ssenjovu has therefore appeared in Muchael Hoffman’s Game 6, The Interpreter among others.
6. Elizabeth Of Toro
Born on 9th February 1936, in Kabarole District in Uganda she is an Actress famously known for featuring in the Sheena movie in 1984 and Things Fall Apart in 1971.
7. Arnold Oceng
A British Ugandan born Actor in the UK, has been in the Hollywood movie industry since the age of 6years. Anorld has therefore become one of the youngest growing and talented black entertainers into the mainstream.
