Former media personality and musician Tuff B has addressed allegations that he disrespected his longtime associate Bebe Cool in an effort to gain favour within the National Unity Platform (NUP), led by Bobi Wine.
The controversy emerged after Tuff B failed to secure the NUP nomination for the Makindye East parliamentary seat, which instead went to the current Mayor Makindye Division, Ali Mulyanyama.
Responding to the claims, Tuff B clarified that his comments comparing Bobi Wine and Bebe Cool were not intended as disrespect, but rather an honest reflection of his personal opinion.
“I’ve never disrespected Bebe Cool. But if I’m asked who stands out more today, and I say they’re no longer on the same level, that’s simply my view and it’s valid,” he stated.
A former member of Bebe Cool’s Gagamel crew, Tuff B went on to highlight the divergent paths the two artists have taken, particularly in terms of leadership and values.

“Bobi and Bebe are completely different now in how they think, act, and lead. One is selfless, the other is selfish. Bobi Wine is leading a revolution, and I’ll always stand by that,” he said.
Tuff B also urged Ugandans to look beyond Bobi Wine’s past in entertainment and recognise his transformation into a national figure.
“People need to appreciate who Bobi Wine has become. He’s no longer just an entertainer he’s a leader helping shape this country’s future,” he added.

His comments are expected to spark renewed debate around the evolving roles of Uganda’s music icons and their influence in the political arena.
