As it goes, Education is the key and in this case in order for one to be well respected and recognized, be it socially or in any other fields, books are one of the main considerations so no matter one’s social status, be it wealth, Education goes a long way. Below is a top list of some of the Ugandan celebrities with schools and Universities they attended.
1.Natasha Museveni Karugire
Daughter to H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Natasha went to Mt. St. Mary’s College Namagunga and it is also believed that she initially wanted to become a nun but as time went by, she focused her aspirations into law and later turned her guns to being an Author.
The President’s daughter graduated from the American College in London with a degree in fashion design and Marketing. She now owns a fashion house and a film making company.
It should be noted that as an Author,Natasha wrote a book dubbed 27 Guns which takes us through a period when Uganda was going through upheavals including the bush war in which her father H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was central.
2. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu
Popularly known by his stage name ‘Bobiwine’, he is a Ugandan activist, politician,singer, lawyer and actor who is also a former member of parliament for Kyadondo County East constituency in Wakiso District and more so, the President of the National Unity Platform.
Kyagulanyi attended Kitante Hill School in 1996 where he attained his Ugandan Certificate of Education and later joined Kololo Senior Secondary school for his Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education in 1998, he then joined Makerere University where for a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Dance and Drama.
He is also believed to have studied at International University of East Africa, Cavendish University Uganda and Harvard University where he recently graduated and concluded his Law studies.
3. Anne Kansiime
Born in Mparo, Rukiga District which is in the Western Region of Uganda, Kansiime studied at Bweranyagi Girls Senior Secondary School in Bushenyi District and then joined Makerere University where she persued a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and Social Sciences.
4.Barbra Itungo Kyagulanyi
Wife to Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, Barbie is a Ugandan philanthropist and Author of ‘Golden Memories of a Village Belle’ a book that was published in 2012.
Barbra Itungo, went to Hellen’s School, Bweranyangi Girls Senior Secondary School and later joined Makerere University for a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
5.Flavia Tumusiime
A Ugandan media personality, actress, Media and Tech Communications Consultant who is also a radio and television host.
Flavia Tumusiime attended St.Theresa School for her primary education, joined Kitante Hill Secondary School for both her “O” and “A” level studies and later attended Makerere University Business School where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business. Flavia furthered her studies at Cavendish University of Uganda.
6.Patrick Salvador Idringi
Patrick Salvado is a Ugandan comedian, an actor, an Mc, radio personality and engineer.
He begun his studies at Our Lady of Africa Nursery and Primary School and he later joined Kiswa Primary School where he sat for his Primary Leaving Examinations in 1997 and later joined Charles Lwanga College for his “O” level studies.
He attended Makerere University for a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
It should however be noted that not all our Ugandan celebrities attended school which also doesn’t define their capabilities.
