In Uganda’s entertainment industry, competition does not only apply to musicians , Actors and Actresses but also the Disk Jockeys. While the audience being has different tastes when it comes to the kind of music they dance and listen to, selecting the best Dj’s might not be easy a task to achieve.
However, the following are some of the best Dj’s topping our chats in the Entertainment Industry.
1. Dj Shiru
Real names Kiberu Bashir from Masaka Nyendo who is famously known by his stage names Dj Shiru is a Ugandan Disc Jokey and record producer who begun his career at a young age of 17 years old, picking a leaf from his elder brother an one famous Dj Rota in Kampala.
Topping his game, he is well known by everybody in the 21st century being one of the first Djs to play for International Musicians.
2. Dj Andy Skillz
He is one of the most charming and successful Djs in this business, a promoter, producer and Bollywood Night inventor who begun his career at an early age of 16 years while wiring machines and playing turn tables.
Dj Andy Skillz has therefore over the years been able to keep crowds due to his capacity to blend and mix all music genres
He is also the official Dj of Speke Hotel, Kololo gardens, Soul Disco, Centenary Bank and the St. Lawrence Schools.
3. Dj Aludah
He started his career from a humble background at Sa Hotel in Najjanankumbi alongside his brother John Smart, Dj Aludah moved to Kenya for a short period of time from where he returned in 2009 and resumed his profession.
He is mostly known from club Amnesia and Radio City Fm.
4. Dj Nimrod
Real names Nimrod Nabeeta is believed to have attained his experience from both radio and club deejaying for about 15 years now.
Nimrod is the General manager at Neem Nimrod and well know for having the best latest music audios and video mixtapes. However, his music genre of specialization ranges from mashups, hip hop, old skool and disco.
He also plays Galaxy FM radio.
5. Dj Roger And Dj Slick Stuart
The two are the only know Dj duo in Uganda who have stopped at nothing but entertain their fans who they have over the years been able to captivate through their live mix of all music genres.
Dj Roger real names, Roger Kitaka started playing from Skylark pub from where he joined club Rouge as a resident Dj in 2010 while Dj Slick Stuart was originally motivated by his father who owned a disco from where he joined the profession in 2011.
6. Dj Mark
He is one of the youngest Djs and he therefore plays at NBS on a weekend morning show every Saturday. He is one Dj that is good at mixing live shows.
7. Dj Baby Love
Real names Augustine Lawot, he is a Disc Jockey and also the CEO Young Blood Entertainment. Well known as the scratch wizard, he vigorously scratches mixes tunes, smoothly flowing them into each other.
Dj Baby Love has been doing this for a period of six years now. He mostly mixes at club Link in Wandegeya on a daily basis, DVJ at Guvnor and NTV.
8. Dj Karo
She is a female in a male dominated profession, who started enjoying music at a young age.
After graduating, Dj Karo is believed to have worked in MTN Uganda in the marketing department before moving to Dash Events an event company owned by Tendo Kagwa and Paul Kaheru. She is into mix taping with a deep passion for music and has therefore hit several high profile events including the Samsung Twitter party and FNL finals.
For as long as a Dj masters and can blend his music so well, following the music trends, it is always easy for them to be ranked in higher positions .
