Ugandan musician Hajjat Stecia Mayanja has refuted claims that she was deported from Canada, where she sought medical treatment and mental health support following her retirement from music in 2022.
The singer, known for her hit “Equalizer,” returned to Uganda a few weeks ago, sparking various rumors about her return.
Some speculated that she was preparing to release new music, while others suggested she was deported due to improper documentation.
In response to these allegations, Stecia firmly stated, “I wasn’t deported, and I will never be. I have the proper documentation.” However, she did not provide details regarding the reason for her return.
