Some Of The Wealthiest Women In Uganda

Over the years, women have transformed from being stay-at home mothers and elevated to being top CEOs and Managers hence competing with Men. Women Entrepreneurs have played a significant role into boasting Uganda’s Economy through creating job opportunities for most Ugandans and paying taxes. The following are some of the richest women in the Pearl of Africa (Uganda).

1. Julian Adyeri

Full names Julian Adyeri Omalla aka Mama Cheers, is a Ugandan businesswoman Entrepreneur, and the founder and Managing Director of Delight Uganda Limited, a company that manufactures soft drinks and water. She was taught by her mother to process fruits and little did she know that the skills she had acquired would turn her into a billionaire.

Julian Adyeri is also the chair person of Bunyoro Grain Farmers Association, embarked on large scale farming in Singe, Tororo and Wakiso. Districts. Adyeri owns a food processing company dubbed Global Foods Securities in which they park floor and  maize porridge for both the local market and exports, she makes feeds under the Mummy choice Brand to mention but a few.

 

2. Judy Rugasira Kyanda

A Ugandan Entrepreneur, businesswoman, Real Estate specialist and the Managing Director of Knight Frank Uganda Limited for a period of about 25 years which is a Teal Estate Agency and consultancy firm.

Judy Rugasira’s experience in Real Estate was acquired in the UK and under her Real Estate company, she manages the Rwenzori Towers, Rwenzori Courts, Crested Towers, Worker’s House, buildings that are believed to house most of the country’s (Uganda) prestigious business enterprises together with government offices.

3. Mariam Luyombo

Formerly known as Dorothy Nanziri, Mariam Luyombo is a Ugandan Educational Entrepreneur and the Director of Taibah Schools in Uganda. She worked as a Secondary School teacher at Makerere College from 1987 to 1998 and St. Joseph’s Secondary School Nsambya from 1998 up to 1990 where she acquired skills and therefore decided to invest in the Education sector.

Mariam Luyombo is believed to have acquire both a bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Makerere University where she gained experience and credentials that assisted her to master the art of Education, hence opening up one of the first International Schools in Uganda including Taibah High School and other schools like Silver Spoon Day care centre, Taibah Junior School and Taibah College School.

She is among others also the executive Director of Uganda Women Entrepreneurs Association which provides business skills, training and offers counseling services to women entrepreneurs.

4. Tereza Mbire

Is a Presidential adviser, Ugandan Entrepreneur and advocate. She is the co-founder of the Uganda Women’s Finance and Credit Trust and the founder of the Uganda Women’s Entrepreneurs’ Association Limited.

Tereza Mbire is the Mother of one of the prominent richest people in Uganda, Charles Mbire but she did build her own Empire. She owns Home Pride Bakery, Kampala Florists and Pop in Industries which specifically make clothes.

5. Amina Hersi Moghe 

Born in 1964, Amina is a Somali Entrepreneur who has launched seceral Multi Million Dollar projects in Kampala Uganda and her projects include Oasis Shopping Mall Kampala and the Laburnum Courts Apartments on Nakasero hill.

According to our close sources, Amina is in the process of launching the first sugar factory in Northern Uganda, dubbed Atiak Sugar factory which is championed as the first largest scale industrial project for the Northern Region. She is also one of Kampala’s largest cement and hardware material distributors, Kingstone Enterprises (Kingstone Enterprises)and she has with all these successful business ventures become a role model to the young generation and was in 2008 awarded the ‘Woman Investor’ of the year.

6. Jyotsna Ruparelia

Wife to the Kampala business Mogul, Sudhir Ruparelia, Ms Jyotsna is the co founder of Ruparelia Foundation,heads the grants division,and an active board member of several group companies.

As Director, Jyotsna has also been instrumental on the expansion and growth of the Ruparelia Group of Companies with active participation in the operations and management of the insurance, property development and investment, businesses valued in million of dollars.

7. Morine Wavamuno

She is one of the Ugandan ladies with a rather high income due to her significant work. Morine is the Executive Director of the Wavamuno Group of companies which includes Spear Motors, Wavah water among others and all these businesses are estimated to earn billion of shillings hence making her one of the wealthiest woman in the country.

8. Dr Margaret Kigozi

Commonly known as Maggie Kigozi, She is a Ugandan medical Doctor, business consultant, educator and sportswoman.

She is a consultant at United Nations Industrial Development Organization and the family has shares in Crown Beverages a company in which her late husband Dan Kigozi was one of the board directors.

9. Allen Kagina

Full names Allen Catherine Kagina is a Ugandan administrator cooperate Executive and Executive Director of the Uganda National Roads Authority, a position she was appointed to by  the President H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

She formerly served as the Commissioner General of the Uganda Revenue Authority from 2004 to 2014.

However, these women have played a vast and significant role into motivating the young girl child generation.
