Shakib Cham Lutaaya, husband to socialite Zari Hassan, has made it clear that he won’t tolerate any of his friends trying to get close to his wife.
In a candid Q&A session, Shakib emphasized the importance of boundaries in his marriage, shared his stance on polygamy, and opened up about past tensions over Zari’s history with her ex, Diamond Platnumz.
Protective and firm in his values, Shakib didn’t mince words. “One major turn-off for me is when my friends try to befriend my wife,” he said. “I really don’t like it they need to know where the line is. Likewise, I don’t see the need to build friendships with my wife’s friends. I’ll greet them politely, but that’s it.”
Having waited years to marry Zari, Shakib is determined to protect the relationship they’ve built. His comments reflect not just a desire for respect, but also a clear boundary that defines his view of loyalty and personal space within a marriage.

Shakib also addressed his discomfort with Zari’s close co-parenting relationship with Diamond Platnumz. The topic has previously sparked disagreements between the couple.
In response, Zari has adjusted her travel arrangements, choosing not to visit Tanzania and instead sending the children alone out of respect for her marriage. She’s publicly affirmed her commitment to her husband, whom she affectionately calls “Mwami Lutaaya.”
When asked about polygamy, Shakib gave a balanced response. As a Muslim, he acknowledged that the religion allows men to marry multiple wives, provided they can care for them equally. However, he noted that he has no intention of taking another partner, saying he’s content in his marriage and living the life he once only dreamed of.

Shakib also opened up about his personal life, saying his father remains a strong role model a brilliant man with impeccable style. He credited his humble upbringing for shaping who he is today.
In a moment of honesty, he confessed to misleading Zari last month. He told her he was home resting, when in fact he was out clubbing. Whether this slip will cause issues in their relationship remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: Shakib is fiercely protective of his marriage—and unafraid to speak his truth.
