NBS TV journalist Canary Mugume’s ex-wife, Sasha Ferguson, has come out with a deeply emotional and shocking account of what she describes as an abusive marriage that forced her to walk away for the safety of herself and her children.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Sasha Ferguson shared how her once-admired relationship slowly turned into a nightmare filled with physical and emotional pain pain she says she endured in silence to protect “someone else’s image.”

Sasha Ferguson, who now lives abroad with her children, narrated how every attempt to seek help was shut down.
“Everyone I ran to told me to sssshhh because someone’s image was at stake… I was always the villain in a well-crafted story,” she wrote.
According to Sasha, the breaking point came after a violent incident where she was told, “People love me, no one will believe you.”

She says that’s when she knew she was completely on her own.
After losing her father in January, Sasha says she left the marriage with nothing but her children, their clothes, and a few belongings choosing peace over possessions.
She also urged people to stop tagging or mentioning Canary under her posts, saying it reopens wounds and makes co-parenting harder.
Despite everything, Sasha insists she doesn’t want anyone to judge the father of her children:
“Please don’t judge him. We are all human. No one is a saint.”,she noted .

Sasha encouraged women to walk away from harmful situations and to work hard for their children so they never lack a seat at the table.
She added that both she and Canary are now on separate life paths and asked the public to respect that.
Rumors of the couple’s split had circulated for months, but Sasha’s revelation finally confirms that the marriage which was formalized in May 2021 after nearly a decade together is over.
