Celebrated Ugandan rapper Mun G is grieving the loss of his paternal grandmother, who passed away just days before his much-anticipated concert at Serena Hotel in Kampala.

The rapper took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the somber news with his fans and followers:

“A sad day for me and mine, my jajja has gone to be with the angels. RIP JAJJA.”

 

In a heartfelt tribute, Mun G also posted a video slideshow featuring moments shared with his grandmother, including a selfie they once took together.

The video was captioned with a touching message in her memory, quoting her words: “Taata mundabire” — a Luganda phrase meaning “Say hello to Father.”

Mun G is set to perform on August 30th at Serena Hotel Kampala, but has yet to confirm whether the recent loss will affect the event.

As of now, the family has not released details regarding the funeral or burial arrangements.
