Rajiv Ruparelia, the late Managing Director of the Ruparelia Group, will be laid to rest on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
His cremation will take place on Tuesday at 2:30 PM at the Hindu Crematorium in Lugogo, according to a statement released by his family.
A vigil is ongoing at the family’s residence in Kololo, where loved ones continue to gather ahead of the final rites.
Rajiv, son of renowned businessman Sudhir Ruparelia, tragically passed away in the early hours of Saturday, May 3, following a fatal car crash.
The accident occurred at the roundabout near the Busabala flyover in Makindye-Ssabagabo, Wakiso District. Reports indicate that his Nissan GTR (registration number UAT 638L) hit temporary barriers, overturned, and caught fire. Sadly, he did not survive.
Since the tragic news broke, family, friends, and members of the public have been visiting the Ruparelia home to pay their respects. Notable mourners include entrepreneur Hamis Kiggundu, Buganda Kingdom Prime Minister Charles Peter Mayiga, musicians Fresh Kid, Felista Di Supasta, and Navio, as well as MP Muhammad Nsereko.
The Ruparelia family has asked for privacy during this difficult time as they mourn the untimely loss of Rajiv.
