“Paid Peanuts, No Progress: Denzo Opens Up on Painful Years Under Bebe Cool’s Gagamel Crew

Former Gagamel crew member Denzo Alvin alias Denzo has come out to speak about his bitter experience while working under singer Bebe Cool, claiming the years he spent in the camp brought him no real benefit.

Denzo, who was once a key figure in Gagamel and often publicly defended Bebe Cool during clashes with Bobi Wine, says the effort and loyalty he gave the group were never rewarded.

After quitting the crew, he chose to go solo and is now pushing his music independently.

Speaking in a recent interview on local television, Denzo revealed that neither he nor other Gagamel members made meaningful money from the shows they performed, despite the crew’s popularity at the time.

“There is no one who benefited from Gagamel. We did big shows, including in Kiwatule, but we were paid peanuts. Sometimes as little as Shs30,000. Something was clearly wrong,” Denzo said.

He went on to accuse Bebe Cool of being selfish and even suggested that the crew may have been “bewitched,” questioning how years of hard work failed to translate into success or growth for its members.

Denzo also admitted regretting the attacks he made against Bobi Wine while still at Gagamel, saying those fights never helped his career in any way.

Now focused on rebuilding his brand, Denzo says he has put that chapter behind him and is determined to succeed on his own.
