St. Francis Hospital Nsambya has issued a statement dismissing circulating reports that Ugandan singer Olisha M, real name Olivia Mildred Namubiru, passed away during childbirth at their facility.
Rumors had spread on social media alleging that the “Ebiwooma” hitmaker died on Friday evening while delivering her baby at Nsambya Hospital after developing complications.

However, in an official statement released on Sunday evening, the hospital clarified that the incident did not occur on their premises and that Olisha M was not among their patients.
“Nsambya Hospital takes maternal health seriously, and our hearts go out to the affected family. After a thorough investigation, we confirm that the tragic incident did not occur at our hospital. Ms. Namubiru Olivia Mildred, also known as Olisha, was not a patient here.
We’ve reached out to correct the record and urge the public to share accurate information,” the statement read in part.

Olisha M rose to fame with songs such as “Ebiwooma” featuring Kent & Flosso and “Gwenjagala.” Her distinct fusion of Afrobeat, dancehall, and R&B made her one of Uganda’s most promising female artists.
Following news of her passing, tributes have continued to pour in across social media, with fans and fellow musicians expressing grief and disbelief.
Her untimely death has once again drawn attention to the state of maternal health care in Uganda, highlighting the challenges many women continue to face during childbirth. Olisha M’s passing is a heartbreaking loss to both her fans and the Ugandan music industry, silencing a voice that had just begun to shine.
