The National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) is gearing up for a  recruitment drive set to kick off on February 27th, 2024 aiming at hiring over 10,000 Ugandans individuals who will play a crucial role in registering more than 18 million Ugandans and providing them with National Identification Numbers (NINs).

NIRA’s Executive Director, Kisembo Rosemary, shared insights into this grand recruitment scheme, emphasizing its multifaceted approach.

The hiring process won’t be limited to Registration Assistants, but will also include positions such as Sub County Supervisors. This move signifies NIRA’s commitment to bolstering its workforce for an imminent NIN issuance campaign and additional responsibilities.

Kisembo Rosemary highlighted that this recruitment endeavor is part of NIRA’s strategy to ensure widespread representation across Uganda’s parishes. With at least one individual selected from each parish where the exercise takes place, NIRA aims to foster a sense of community involvement and collaboration.

Requirements:

To be eligible for these exciting positions, applicants must be Ugandan citizens possessing a valid National Identity Card. The call is open to individuals aged 18 years and above, and detailed job descriptions, along with additional requirements, can be found on NIRA’s official website.

In terms of remuneration, successful candidates can anticipate a monthly salary of approximately 500,000 shillings for the duration of the 10-month recruitment exercise. Kisembo Rosemary made these revelations during a joint weekly security briefing at the Police headquarters in Naguru, Kampala, underlining the financial incentives associated with contributing to this nationwide initiative.
