Singer-turned-politician Nina Roz has come out to apologize to National Unity Platform (NUP) supporters after a circulating video showed her seemingly endorsing Uganda Boxing Federation boss Moses Muhangi for the Kampala Central MP seat.

The video, whose date of recording is still unclear, went viral across social media and was even proudly reposted by Muhangi sparking mixed reactions and criticism from some NUP supporters.

Nina and Muhangi have long been known to be close friends, something that added fuel to the discussion.

But in a sudden U-turn, Nina Roz rushed to her social media pages to set the record straight. She apologized to those who felt offended and clarified that the video does not represent her official political stand.

“I have seen the video circulating, and I am truly sorry to everyone who was annoyed or angered by it. It does not reflect my official position,” Nina explained.

She stressed that as a proud member of NUP and the party’s flag bearer for Ssembabule District Woman MP, she fully supports NUP Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya for Kampala Central. She also confirmed her backing for Hon. Ronald Balimwezo for Kampala Lord Mayor.

Nina added that her clarification was necessary to counter what she termed as “selfish motives” from individuals sharing the misleading video.

She concluded her message with a heartfelt apology and a call for unity moving forward.

“I fully support our SG David Lewis Rubongoya. I stand with NUP Kampala and the values we fight for. Apologies for any confusion.”,she confirmed.
