A seasoned lawyer and long-serving Member of Parliament, Nsereko brings over a decade of political experience to the national stage. His campaign is expected to focus on both the pressing issues facing Kampala Central Division and broader national concerns affecting everyday Ugandans.

While Nsereko recently unveiled a poster featuring a new political entity, the Ecological Party of Uganda he has clarified that his presidential bid is independent. The structure and platform of this new party are still being developed and remain largely unknown at this stage.

As an independent, Nsereko aims to attract voters who are dissatisfied with the country’s dominant political parties. His legal expertise and record in parliament could serve as key assets in his campaign.

Looking Ahead to 2026

Nsereko will likely face stiff competition in the upcoming race. Other anticipated candidates include:

President Yoweri Museveni, the incumbent and long-time leader, expected to run again under the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).

Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine), the popular opposition figure and musician, who previously ran in the 2021 elections and remains a significant challenger.
