Former Miss Uganda 2023/2024, Hannah Karema, has strongly denied allegations linking her to child trafficking, describing the claims as false, baseless and deeply hurtful.
In a statement issued on Friday, Karema said the accusations emerged from an online interview conducted by YouTuber Allan Cruz, in which a woman alleged that the former beauty queen was behind a ring that trafficks young girls out of the country.

During the interview, the woman claimed she had evidence connecting Karema to the alleged operation, including a phone contact saved under Karema’s name and bearing her profile picture.
“Ms Karema traffics girls and sells them abroad. I have got her contact registered in her names and even the profile picture is here. I got the contact from one of my friends,” the accuser claimed.
Responding to the claims, Karema dismissed them outright and said she has already engaged a legal team to handle the matter.

“I have seen the false allegations being circulated about me online, and I want to address them directly. I categorically and unequivocally deny all the claims being made against me,” Karema said.
She added that the accusations do not reflect her character, values, or the work she carried out during her time as Miss Uganda.
Karema noted that the matter is being taken very seriously and is now being handled through proper legal channels.
“I reserve my right to take appropriate legal action against those responsible for spreading defamatory information,” she stressed.

Despite the gravity of the allegations, Karema said she remains open and transparent, expressing willingness to publicly address the claims on a credible platform where facts, not rumours, can be discussed fairly and honestly.
