Renowned Ugandan singer Mukasa Yasin, also known as Lil Pazo Lunabe, is facing a lawsuit for song plagiarism.

Earlier this week, Lil Pazo Lunabe expressed his admiration and deep affection for his long-time crush, songstress Irene Ntale, in a rendition of “Kilabe Ebiso” titled “Irena WEeee”.

However, when Conrad, the son of the late Kato Lubwama, and John Segawa encountered Lil Pazo’s version of the song, they were displeased by his unauthorized use and accused him of disrespecting the late Kato Lubwama’s work.

Now, Kato Lubwama’s family, through Maldes Advocates, has filed a lawsuit against Lil Pazo for copying “Kilabe Ebiiso” to create his song “Irena WEeee”.

A cease and desist notice from Maldes Advocates instructs Lil Pazo to immediately remove the infringing song from all media platforms, issue a formal apology for the infringement, and publicize the apology on all media platforms where his song is played.

Additionally, he is required to pay damages of UGX 300,000,000 (Three Hundred Million Uganda Shillings) and cover costs incurred, totaling UGX 20,000,000 (Twenty Million Uganda Shillings).

Lil Pazo has 14 days from the date of the letter to comply with these demands. If he fails to do so, legal proceedings will be instituted against him without further notice, at his peril, inconvenience, and cost.
