Ugandan singer and president of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), Eddy Kenzo, has revealed that fellow artist King Saha is a registered member and beneficiary of the Federation’s SACCO fund.
This comes despite King Saha’s public denial of any affiliation with Kenzo’s Federation, a stance believed to be influenced by political differences.
Many musicians aligned with Bobi Wine’s National Unity Platform (NUP) have distanced themselves from UNMF, viewing it as a government-linked initiative aimed at controlling artists through the ruling NRM and President Museveni.
Speaking on the matter, Kenzo stated:
“I say this with complete honesty King Saha is a member of the Federation’s SACCO. He has received funds before, and the opportunity remains open for him to access more if he wishes. It’s his right as a musician.”
Kenzo further criticized artists who publicly deny their involvement for political or social clout, saying the reality behind the scenes often tells a different story.
He suggested that King Saha is not the only one in this position, noting that other artists like Ziza Bafana have reportedly taken SACCO funds but later denied any involvement.
Saha is yet to make comment on Eddy Kenzo’s claims and once he does we shall keep you posted.
