Legendary Ugandan musician Joseph Mayanja, popularly known as Jose Chameleone, has spoken out about his ongoing divorce from his wife, Daniella Atim, emphasizing that his primary concern is the wellbeing of their children.
Daniella filed for divorce at the Family Division of the Magistrate’s Court in Kampala. In her petition, she is seeking full custody of their children, ownership of their matrimonial home in Seguku, two plots of land along the Entebbe Expressway, and other shared properties.
Addressing the situation publicly, Jose Chameleone explained that the property and assets in question are not for personal gain, but are intended to benefit their children.
“The things we are fighting for are for the children, not ourselves,” Jose Chameleone said. “Even the children will eventually leave them behind, and others will come to occupy them.”,he said.
He went on to express his discomfort with the legal process, comparing it to writing a will while still alive.

“Stop creating problems where there are none. This feels like I’m being asked to write my will before my time.”,he added.
Despite his reservations, Chameleone clarified that he is willing to comply with legal procedures if required. He reiterated that his wealth is meant for his children’s future, not his own.
Remaining composed amidst the legal proceedings, the iconic singer assured his fans that he is not burdened by the divorce, saying:
“Everything on earth is vanity. I am at peace”,he concluded.
