Celebrated Ugandan Singer Joseph Mayanja alias Jose Chameleone, has been discharged from Nakasero Hospital, where he had been receiving treatment for the past 11 days.

Reports confirm that Chameleone left the hospital on Monday, December 23, 2024, and is heading directly to the airport for a flight to the United States to continue his medical care.

The renowned singer will be receiving further treatment at Allina Health Mercy Hospital in the U.S. In addition to his treatment, Chameleone has requested a three-month leave to rest and fully recover.

Recently, Dr. Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi, the Minister of State for Child and Youth Affairs, announced that the government would cover Chameleone’s medical expenses during his treatment abroad.

Chameleone’s son, Marcus Abba, made headlines last week with a video in which he blamed his father for his current health struggles.

He revealed that Chameleone is suffering from Acute Pancreatitis, a condition marked by inflammation of the pancreas. Abba also stated that his father might not have more than two years to live due to the severity of the illness.
